Hi all,
I would like to provide more details and schedule for the Premier Team(s) and U11 Tier 1 tryouts. We may be adding further sessions once the tryouts are underway. A reminder that all players must attend a minimum of 50% of tryout sessions to be considered for the roster unless special permission is granted for missing sessions by the Youth Director. That permission is required prior to the first session. U11 Tier 1 tryouts will be scheduled as noted below with the Tier 2 and 3 assessments being announced soon, these assessments will happen after the Tier 1 tryouts. Also, we will have further updates on U18 Boys and Girls program as registration keeps moving forward. As it stands now, we should have a Premier and Div 1 team in each of the U18 Girls and Boys as well as the U15 Boys & Girls. The tryout dates are tentative based on the number that sign up for tryouts and if that number justifies holding and charging for tryouts if not enough sign up. If not enough sign up for tryouts, we may have to go to a different selection process for the Premier teams that may not require full tryout sessions.
All Tryouts for the times listed below are at the Indoor Dome Facility. All players need to be signed up for Tryouts to attend as well have Tryout fee of $35 and the Summer Soccer Registration paid in full. If unable to pay in full, please contact us to make other arrangements. Also, if you have registered as Kidsport or JumpStart, you do not need to pay before as that process is already underway. If you are from one of our District Clubs, please make sure you are registered with them and register for tryout and remit the fee for tryouts to SUSC.
We look forward to seeing all the players at the Dome and getting started. If you choose not to participate in tryouts, we will be having sessions for First and second division after the try-outs are over and a team has been announced. Please stay tuned for those sessions that are to be announced. Please remember your gear that you will need to participate (cleats, shin pads etc.)
We will be announcing coaches for some teams by tomorrow. The balance of coaches will be identified after the Tryouts. Assessments this season will be handled by appointed qualified assessors in consultation with potential coaches. More information on this to follow.
Another change this year is that the guardians of players will not be allowed inside the dome turf area during sessions. The layout inside was changed over the winter by the CUP facility and it no longer has space for spectators and players to have enough room to work. Players will also need to wait until the exact start time and not enter the dome area until the group prior has left. We will have people in the lobby to check the players in, and they are able to get ready and wait in the locker rooms off the lobby entrance. Once the session is complete, they will need to leave the dome area and will be able to wait inside the lobby to be picked up.
