SUSC MINI SOCCER PROGRAM

 

MINI Program Costs 2014:

Under 4 Program (Born in 2010 or later)  = $70.00
Under 6 Program (Born in 2009 or 2008) = $95.00
Under 8 Program (Born in 2007 or 2006) = $95.00

 

 

Under 4 Boys & Girls – Orientation Night- TBA

 

The Summerside United Soccer Club will be kicking off our Under 4 Boys & Girls soccer program on  TBA
. It will be an orientation night that will generally flow as follows:

 

 

·        All players must sign in at the registration desk, where team color will be assigned

·        Players & parents can proceed to the TOSH “Upper Field - North End” and find their team location

·        Team coach will gather players & parents together to do the following:

1.      Get to know each other – share names, etc.

2.      Distribute jerseys to players

3.      Review equipment policy

4.      Review weather cancellation policy

5.      Review the basic structure that will be followed for the 10 week program

·        Play games & have fun – parents feel free to join in on this night!

 

The orientation session will last 45 minutes, concluding at 6:45 pm

 


Under 6 Boys & Girls – Orientation Night- TBA

                                                                             

 

The Summerside United Soccer Club will be kicking off our Under 6 Boys & Girls soccer program on TBA. It will be an orientation night that will generally flow as follows:

 

·        All players must sign in at the registration desk, where team color will be assigned

·        Players & parents can proceed to the TOSH “Upper Field - South side” and find their team location

·        Team coach will gather players together to do the following:

1.      Get to know each other – share names, etc.

2.      Distribute jerseys to players

3.      Review equipment policy

4.      Review weather cancellation policy

5.      Review the basic structure that will be followed for the 10 week program

·        Warm up drills and one or two skill drills

·        Scrimmage for approximately 30 minutes

 

 

The orientation session will last 60 minutes, concluding at 6:45 pm



 

Under 8 Boys & Girls – Orientation Night

                                                                                           

 

The Summerside United Soccer Club will be kicking off our Under 8 Boys & Girls soccer program on TBA It will be an orientation night as follows:

 

·        All players must sign in at the registration desk, where team color will be assigned

·        Players & parents can proceed to the TOSH “Canada Games field” and find their team location

·        Team coach will gather players together to do the following:

1.      Get to know each other – share names, etc.

2.      Distribute jerseys to players

3.      Review equipment policy

4.      Review weather cancellation policy

5.      Review the basic structure that will be followed for the 10 week program

·        Warm up drills and one or two skill drills

·        Scrimmage for approximately 30 minutes

 

 

The orientation session will last 60 minutes, concluding at 7:15 pm



Under 4, 6 & 8 Field Schedule:
For the 2014 soccer season we are expecting to run the mini program very similar to that of last year. The field scheduling will be as follows:
   

U4 Boys & Girls – Three Oaks - 6:00 to 6:45 (45 Minutes) - Mondays only, with Wednesday being a rain date

 

U6 Boys & Girls – Three Oaks - 5:45 to 6:45 (1 hr) - Mondays & Wednesdays (no scheduled rain dates, but may request additional field times, if this becomes an issue)

 

U8 Boys & Girls – Three Oaks - 6:15 to 7:15 (1 hr) - Mondays & Wednesdays (no scheduled rain dates, but may request additional field times, if this becomes an issue)

 

The program will run from TBA. This will allow for a 9 week program. 

 

Week #1 – Will consist of one session that will be designated as an orientation night

 

Weeks #2 to #8 – Seven full weeks of regular practice sessions & “fun”

 

Week #9 - Will consist of one session that will be designated as a fun wrap up night
 


Under 4, 6 & 8 Equipment Policy:

All players need to be equipped with soccer cleats, shin guards, water bottles and, where applicable, hair tied back using head bands or pony tails. Also, jewelry is not permitted while playing.

 

For the Under 4 age group, cleats are not a requirement, but may prevent injury should the soccer field be in wet condition.
 


Weather Related Cancellations:

Soccer is generally played rain or shine. However, at this age level, safety of these young players will be first and foremost.

 

In situations where the weather is questionable it will be up to the Mini Program Director to make the final decision. This will be done by way of an update on our website, as well as by way of email to all those signed up on our email list. Notice will be posted by 5:00 pm of the day in question
